Managing a Virtualization Platform Havard Bjerke Hosted by Kate Keahey |
|
| Abstract |
In the CERN Openlab, we have researched virtualization as a means to achieve more dynamic, secure and manageable Grid resources. Benchmarks have shown that Xen can provide a virtualization platform with negligible CPU overhead. Xen has successfully been deployed in the LHC Computing Grid and passed all test runs. Since VMs run isolated, we envision allowing users to deploy their own OSes and applications in the Grid and provisioning VMs on demand. |
