Technical development using the AG Mud.
Actually, the mud we're using is called the Virtual Venues MUD, a mud supported by the Division
of Mathematics and Computer Science at Argonne National Laboratory. We
congregate in the Meadow. We'll add stuff to this page as
necessary. The point of this page is to give you a quick and dirty guide to getting
up and running so that we can work together effectively for the upcoming milestone
demonstration events. Let's get cracking!
There are many ways to communicate with the mud server. A simple to install, simple to
use mud client that works on Windows is tkMoo-Light. Other ways include any one
of several emacs-based mud clients, Pueblo, and
others. There are clients for all platforms, and naturally not all clients work on
all platforms. If you've got scads of time on your hands work harder on Access Grid.
When you've finished the Access Grid, then poke "mud clients" into your
favorite web search engine to be inundated with possibilities. My advice: don't go
there!
Our advice is to try tkMoo-Light on your Windows box.
