Mailing lists
The following sets forth the many
official mailing lists that are currently in place in connection with the
official Access Grid project. (They include @mcs.anl.gov and @accessgrid.org
domains.) A
description of the proper usage of each is provided.
Our monthly technical meeting series,
up-to-date announcements, future newsletters, automated procedures, and
productive mailing lists below, ensure our expanding AG community stays well
informed and connected at every level.
Our main mailing list tends to still
be ag-tech@mcs.anl.gov. The
ag-tech mailing list is a good resource for
anyone involved in building, running, or using the Access Grid.

on the AG.

Collection of those interested in the sociology and human factors studies
related to being in an Access Grid environment for interaction or group
collaboration.

For open technical discussions and exchanges regarding all aspects of
Access Grid technology. Questions are assumed to be open ended and may not
be resolved in full.
- ag-users@mcs.anl.gov
Discussions directly related to the production, operation, and management of an Access Grid event or node. This mailing list will be forum for topics such as meeting management, node operating, documentation, logistics, and benefits of production plans or other tools established to help use the AG effectively.

This will be an alias to generate requisitions for questions to be resolved
by a small appointed staff. This list should be used to report AG bugs,
equipment questions, software concerns, etc. Responses will be required.

Staff to field general inquiries, broad questions, or specific direction
of a topic.

To field and receive inquiries regarding multicast troubleshooting and networking. Specific details should be provided and include, but need not
be limited to, the following:
- Is the source(s) in question running now? If not, it needs to be turned
back on.
- Provide IP source.
- Provide IP address of group not getting traffic.
- Provide IP address of receiver not getting traffic.
- What is your beacon status? Is it running? Is issue with audio, video or both?
- Is this a network drop, intermittent, or a complete disconnect?
- Is the problem persistent across all sites?
- Are there any other current networking problems you are aware of at your
site or with your group?
