ActiveMural is a large format high-resolution display device at Argonne National Laboratory. Our current resolution is 4,920 x 2,204 pixels, with fifteen XGA projectors. We currently have all fifteen projectors connected to a linux cluster, where each node in the cluster has a AGP graphics adapter. We also have a subset of the projectors connected to our Onyx2 Infinite RealityÔ graphics pipes. A separate subset of the projectors is connected to a four-headed Windows NTÔ computer. We are currently building a four-headed Linux computer to connect to a third subset of the projectors. This allows us to do a variety of experiments in utilizing different applications on multiple platforms to get different classes of work accomplished. We expect to expand our display to include twenty-four projectors at XGA resolution, totaling 5,894 x 2,892 pixels.
