General Information
Objectives:
- Foster a sense of community among computer science researchers
interested in high performance computing.
- Consider the challenges presented by next generation petascale
computers and begin the development of a computer science research road map that will help
guide our future investments at MICS.
- Get to know each other better and have an enjoyable time!

Location:
Argonne
National Laboratory
- Argonne National Laboratory is about 45 minutes by car from
each of the two major Chicago airports, O'Hare and Midway. Limousine service is available
from each airport, and major car rental agencies serve both airports.

Directions:
- To reach Argonne from Ohare
International Airport, take I-294 south to I-55. Exit west on I-55 (toward St. Louis) and
continue for about four miles to Cass Avenue. Exit south on Cass and turn right at the
Argonne sign on Northgate Road, immediately south of I-55. Follow Northgate Road to the
Argonne Information Center.
- To reach Argonne from Midway
Airport, take Cicero Avenue north to I-55. Enter I-55 south and continue for about 14
miles to Cass Avenue. Exit south on Cass and turn right at the Argonne sign on Northgate
Road, immediately south of I-55. Follow Northgate Road to the Argonne Information Center.
Registration:
- Deadline for registration is June 11, 2002
- Formal registration is REQUIRED in roder to
enter Argonne's site. Please provide the below information to your host or host's
designate. Please realize this will only "register" you for attendance at
the meeting. You will need to make your lodging reservations with the Argonne Guest
House directly, please see Lodging above.
- You will need to bring your driver's license for entry to the
Laboratory. If you are from a DOE Laboratory, please bring your badge with you. If
you will be off-normal hours, please proceed directly to the guard gate. If you are
arriving on 8:30-5 Monday through Friday, please stop at the Argonne Information Center.
