Modeling, Simulation, and Parameter Estimation

SIMUSOLV along with ACSL is an integrated, multifunctional software package designed to help scientists and engineers develop and use mathematical models of physical systems. It allows users to simulate the behavior of systems and optimize their performance, and to estimate the best values for the model's parameters. Typical applications include chemical kinetics, chemical reactors, pharmacology, toxicology, chemical process engineering, environmental sciences, and agriculture.

SIMUSOLV uses the Advanced Continuous Simulation Language (ACSL). A user with limited programming experience can develop complicated models consisting of algebraic and differential equations. Some of the features include:

• Intuitive model specification with ACSL.
• Interactive study of mathematical models through control of functions and parameters, graphics, parameter estimation, and defaults.
• Sensitivity (what if) analysis.
• Numerical methods include several different integration algorithms, nonlinear constrained optimization, and a steady-state finder.
• Statistical methods include maximum likelihood parameter estimates, automatic data weighting, parameter confidence levels, and correlation analysis.
• Built-in functions such as vector and array capabilities and a FORTRAN function library.
