SC 2000 Network Challenge
Goals

Goals
The goal of the Network Challenge was to encourage use of SCinet infrastructure via exciting demonstrations during the SC2000 Conference.

The Awards Committee observed demonstrations and was to recognize entries based on the following categories:

  • Highest On-site point-to-point bandwidth
  • Highest Off-site point-to-point bandwidth
  • Highest Off-site aggregate bandwidth
  • Most interesting
    Could capture, e.g. massively parallel computation distributed data analysis, online instrumentation.

Judges contemplated the original award criteria, and determined that (due to the nature of the participant's applicatiaons), that the following awards better suited the competition:

  • Fastest and Fattest
  • Hottest Infrastructure
  • Most Captivating and Best Tuned
  • Outstanding Runners-Up.

Winner(s) will receive cash awards from Qwest.
