Each participant will be asked to nominate the paths over which they
will run their application; network monitoring will be in place and will measure
bandwidth used over a designated 3-hour period Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon.
Two panels of judges will visit the contestants (4 each) between 2:00p - 4:00p
Wednesday afternoon for a demonstration. Demo schedule can be
found here.
Prizes will be awarded (as follows)at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday(some or all of
the below, at judge's discretion)*:
- Most data transferred into and out of the convention center during the 1-hour period by
a real application,
- Highest instantaneous link bandwidth achieved at any time into or out of the convention
center during the 1-hour period by a real application [this to prevent the team(s) with
access to high-speed external nets getting all the prizes],
- Highest fraction of available peak bandwidth achieved into and/or out of the convention
center during the 1-hour period by a real application
- Most interesting application.
