TAO - Supported Architectures

This TAO release has been tested on  the following architectures:

• IBM RS6000 (including SP) (rs6000) (rs6000_sp for SP)
• SGI Workstations (IRIX )
• SGI Origin (IRIX64)
• Sun Sparcstations running Solaris (solaris) (solaris_gnu)
• Cray T3E (t3e)
• Intel processors running Linux (linux)
• Intel processors running freebsd (freebsd)
• Intel processors running Windows (win32_ms_mpich)(win32_borland)

TAO uses a portable makefile system provided by the PETSc library; thus, refer to information about the machines that PETSc supports for details about these machines.

Support for Windows platforms (Windows NT /98; win32 for Microsoft developers studio compilers; win32_gnu for Gnu) will be forthcoming.
