Production Grid environments are essential to the development of new network based applications 24 x 7 systems support for the Grid End user training and consulting on development tools and infrastructure use Specialists are need to “engineer and maintain” the computational Grid in the same way systems programmers maintain computer centers

The Grid is the moral equivalent of the Supercomputer of the 1980’s.

Applications will take off once we have the moral equivalent of the NSF Supercomputer Centers
