Introduction

I am responsible for the Collaborative tools effort in the MCS Division's Futures Lab. This includes the Metro Collaboration Management Framework project, the Voyager multi-stream multi-media recorder and playback engine, the Manyworlds shared virtual reality project and the CAVEav system for creating, sending and receiving video from the CAVE virtual environment. I also participate in the division's computer science research program as it relates to computational science. In addition, I provide technical support for development of emerging National Information Infrastructure programs.

Accomplishments

  • Participated in the development of the ZGRASS system, used at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago
  • Participated in the development and application of p4, particularly in design of the visualization tools
  • Developed the proprietary geographic information system, which combines advanced database search capabilities with a rule-based expert system
